1. Native plants are the best choice

2. Eliminate pesticide use

3. Plant in clumps of 1m in diameter of the same species. This makes your plants more visible to pollinators

4. Provide a shallow water source such as a bee bath

5. Have continuous blooms through out the growing season

6. Leave bare patches of soil in sunny, well drained sites for nesting habitat

7. Aim to have a diversity of at least 10 native plants on your site

8. Remove and replace invasive plants on your site

9. Provide host plants such as Milkweed

10. Leave Plants standing over winter to provide shelter for over-wintering pollinators

11. Sunny sites are preferred by pollinators, but not necessary

12. Avoid wood mulch where possible as it reduces nesting opportunities for bees
